ALM30 - Theory and Practice in a Changing World

As you may be aware the 30th Adults Learning Mathematics Conference [ALM30] is being hosted in the University of Limerick, Ireland, from July 3rd – July 5th 2023. The theme for this year’s conference is Numeracy Theory and Practice in a Changing World. We are currently inviting research articles that align with this theme. In addition to this, at ALM30 we are hoping to attract a number of practitioners to join us on Tuesday July 4th and are looking to host a number of practical workshops on this day. Thus, the conference will involve a number of different sessions involving research presentations and workshops which may be drawn from the following list of sub topics:

  1. Numeracy in a Digital Era
  2. Numeracy in a Sustainable, Healthy and Peaceful Global Environment
  3. Effective numeracy teaching
  4. Changing numeracy policies
  5. Issues in numeracy education for adult learners in the 21st Century and beyond
However, this is by no means an exhaustive list and all submissions that align with the overarching theme will be considered. For those interested in delivering a presentation or workshop at ALM30, the call for abstracts is now open and submissions can be made at the following link:https://unioflimerick.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b3oXiqkasqjp1Fs. Please note that the deadline for submissions is March 17th 2023. The registration portal for ALM30 will open in February 2023 but proposals can be submitted in advance of this. We hope you will consider presenting at ALM30.

Kind Regards Niamh
