Abstract: This seminar will be broadcasted from the closing session of Thematic Working Group (TWG) on Adult Mathematics Education of  CERME12, online conference, 2nd to 5th of February, 2022. This seminar will show the range of contributions from attendees, considering  the breadth and depth of challenges faced by adults learning mathematics in different contexts  as well as their motivations to engage with those challenges. As we are only too well aware many adults have had to deal with barriers to learning mathematics, whether cultural, political, emotional, educational, psychological, economic or social. The leaders of the group will present the work of the TWG in an interactive session.
